Forwards Ben Wallace of the Detroit Pistons and Elton Brand of the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday were named NBA Players of the Week.

Wallace led the Pistons to a 4-0 record and helped them set an NBA record by holding opponents under 100 points for 34 consecutive games. He averaged 11.5 points on 47 percent shooting, adding 15.8 rebounds, 3.0 blocks, 2.3 assists and 2.0 steals per game.

Wallace pulled down a season-high 22 rebounds on Friday against Phoenix.

Brand averaged 23.3 points on 57 percent shooting as the Clippers defeated Denver and the Los Angeles Lakers on a four-game homestand. He also had 11.3 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.0 blocks per contest.

Against the rival Lakers on Sunday, Brand collected a season-high 30 points, 15 rebounds, six assists and five blocks.

Other nominees in the Western Conference included Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks, Peja Stojakovic of the Sacramento Kings and Ray Allen of the Seattle SuperSonics.

Jermaine O'Neal of the Indiana Pacers, Lamar Odom of the Miami Heat, Jason Kidd of the New Jersey Nets and New Orleans Hornets teammates P.J. Brown and Baron Davis also were considered for the Eastern Conference honor.
